Monica M Matsumoto, MD

Monica Matsumoto, MD, is an interventional radiologist. Her clinical and research interests include vascular anomalies and global health. She also trains residents in vascular and interventional radiology.

Dr. Matsumoto grew up in Charlottesville and attended Charlottesville High School, where she played on the soccer team and in the orchestra. She attended Rice University and spent a year in Jordan on a Fulbright Research Scholarship following graduation.

She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago with a one-year research fellowship in the department of radiology at Northwestern University. She completed a general surgery internship and diagnostic and interventional radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident during her final year.

She grew up with pugs and now has one of her own.
