1. What has most inspired and shaped your approach to patient care?
Hearing people's stories and knowing that everyone does have a narrative. Some people are better storytellers than others, but regardless, everybody has a story. Genuinely being interested in hearing their perspective, hearing their story, has shaped my practice a lot.
2. What's your favorite part of your job?
The patients. I also am very lucky because we have a nice team. I love our nurses and everyone I work with in clinic and in the OR.
3. What’s your biggest fear as a patient?
How much I have to wait. How slow things are. Lack of control. It's a long list, but I'll stop here.
4. What do you do for stress relief?
I like to hike and read fun fiction or nonfiction.
5. Dogs or cats?
I'm a dog person. I have a mini Australian shepherd named August. She's my joy. This is the first time I have had a dog as an adult.
6. Last movie you watched? Thumbs up or down?
Emma Stone's recent movie called Bugonia. It is quite thought-provoking. Definitely thumbs up.
7. Best advice you've ever heard?
I have been fortunate to have a lot of people at different milestones in life give me wonderful advice. There are different seasons in life and different things become relevant at those times. But I'd say perhaps the thing that has stuck with me the most is that you can't do it all. And it's okay to prioritize and miss things on one side or the other because you've made commitments to something that's bigger than you.
