After years of suffering from chronic pain, there are some patients who need a physician who is willing to "think outside the box" and explore alternative or additional diagnoses. It's not uncommon for a previous doctor to misdiagnosis a patient or for a patient to have an overlapping condition that hasn't been diagnosed. Not every patient living with chronic pain Is satisfied with just getting a pain relief prescription. Some of us are searching for a more thorough diagnosis than what a doctor or test showed ten years ago.
