Bio & Overview

Jonathan Pan, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in treating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. He also provides care for other heart conditions and uses advanced imaging, including cardiac MRI and CT scans, to diagnose conditions.

His research focuses on using non-invasive imaging to better understand and treat challenging heart conditions and finding new ways to measure heart function and improve the understanding of conditions like heart failure.

“I believe the key to working with patients is to make sure they feel heard and to build a trusting relationship with them,” he says.

Pan was born in Fairfax and grew up in Vienna. He earned his medical degree from UVA, where he also completed his internal medicine residency, general cardiology fellowship, and cardiovascular imaging fellowship. He also received an MBA and master of science in clinical research from UVA.
