Jiwon Lim, DMD

Jiwon Lim, DMD, MPH, is an oral medicine specialist/dentist who treats and manages a wide range of complex oral conditions, including oral mucosal lesions, dry mouth, and burning mouth sensations.

She also provides specialized dental treatment for immunocompromised people and those experiencing oral complications after head and neck radiation. She treats oral complications for rare diseases, including hyper IgE syndrome, ROSAH, and GATA2 deficiencies.

Her research interests include the manifestation of rare diseases in the oral cavity, improving oral outcomes after radiation of the head and neck, and access to equitable dental care.

She earned her doctor of dental medicine (DMD) degree from East Carolina University and completed a hospital dentistry residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals. She completed her oral medicine residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where she also earned a master of public health degree with a concentration in community health and behavior health.

Lim previously worked as a staff dentist at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, part of the National Institutes of Health.
