1. What has most inspired and shaped your approach to patient care?

I started doing urgent care medicine during my second year of residency. I liked that patients come to you when they really need help. Patients trust us with their decisions and put their health in our hands.That's the motivation factor that keeps me going every day.

2. What's your favorite part of your job?

Seeing a wide variety of things, including doing hands-on procedures, from laceration repairs to fractures to stabilization of patients when they walk in with allergic reactions. It's always exciting to be sitting in the office and not know who is going to walk through the door.

3. What’s your biggest fear as a patient?

My biggest fear when I see someone is that they will impose their treatment plan on me rather than me being a part of it. When I see my patients, I always ask if they understand or agree with what I say. Because if I give them medication or a treatment plan and they don't follow it, then it's not worth it. The patient will not get better.

4. What do you do for stress relief?

I have two daughters. They keep me on my feet. And I have two cats. I play tennis on the weekends.

5. Dogs or cats?

Cat person. Dogs are too much work, I think.

6. Last movie you watched? Thumbs up or down?

My daughters forced me to watch KPop Demon Hunters. It was a thumbs up. The songs are good.

7. Best advice you've ever heard?

Respect your parents. Always be available for your family. Don't work too hard that you miss time spent with your family, especially your children, because once they grow up, you don't get that time back.
