Xiaoying “Amy” Zhu, MD, PhD, is an anesthesiologist who specializes in caring for patients with chronic and acute pain.
Her clinical interests include optimizing pain treatment using medications and procedures.
Dr. Zhu is involved in the UVA Telehealth Advisory Committee, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program, Perioperative Pain Consults, and the UVA Opioid Task Force.
Her research interests include outcome measures of pain treatments and improvement of pain procedures.
She completed her anesthesiology residency and a postdoctoral research fellowship in neuroscience from Wake Forest University. She also competed a pain management fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
