Bio & Overview
I was born in Virginia, growing up in Amherst, VA. I completed my undergraduate studies at James Madison University, majoring in Biology and received my BSN from the University of Virginia. Graduate school included both Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, both earned at the University of Virginia.
My clinical training includes cardiology with a focus in advanced heart failure care and certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Certified Heart Failure Nurse. I have worked for the UVAMC since 1999 and in Cardiovascular Medicine since 2001.
Outside of work I enjoy mountain biking and exercising. With my wife and daughter, we enjoy spending time working with horses and volunteering with Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue.
