Paul Baker, MD, is a surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive bariatric and upper gastrointestinal tract surgery, bariatric revision surgery, advanced endoscopy, and emergency general surgery.
“My top priority is patient safety and optimizing every outcome,” he says. “Every patient I meet is experiencing an issue that could seem routine to the care team but is likely life-altering for the patient. Maintaining that perspective is very important to me.”
Dr. Baker was born and raised in Nashville. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed his general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he was the general surgery resident of the year. He is currently pursuing an advanced gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at UVA Health.
