Bio & Overview
Matthew Wagar, MD, treats people with gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar, and uterine cancers. His research interests include finding new uses for existing therapies, as well as surgical innovations and preventive surgery.
“I enjoy helping patients make decisions about what is best for them and their wellbeing,” he says. “My hope is to always have patients feel prioritized and empowered.”
Dr. Wagar was born and raised in Minneapolis and earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he was education chief resident, and stayed to complete his gynecologic oncology fellowship.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, skiing, hiking, and traveling.
