Gustavo Da Fonseca Monjardim, MD, is a diagnostic radiologist whose specialties include sports injuries, MRI, fluoroscopy guided procedures, and ultrasound intervention.
“I approach patients with empathy and active listening,” he says. “I use evidence-based care and collaborative goal setting to empower patients.”
He earned his medical degree from Federal University of Espirito Santo and completed his radiology and diagnostic imaging residency at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. He worked as a musculoskeletal radiologist in Sao Paulo for 8 years. After transitioning to the U.S., he completed his additional musculoskeletal fellowship at the University of Virginia. Currently he is the Musculoskeletal MRI Director at University of Virginia.
