Gufran A Mohed, GC

Gufran Mohed, MS, LCGC, is a genetic counselor who offers prenatal screening, carrier screening, and diagnostic testing to help expecting parents and those considering conceiving understand their options.

Her work includes counseling patients who have had an abnormal ultrasound or prenatal screening results and those with a personal or family history of a genetic condition.

“I listen attentively to my patients and ask them about their goals, questions, and concerns. I appreciate open dialogue and want to help all my patients as much as I can,” she says. “I love helping people understand complex genetic information and make informed decisions.”

She was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She studied biological sciences and psychology at Virginia Tech and earned her master’s degree in genetic counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University.

She lives with her husband and cat, Simba, and enjoys good food, comedy movies, and traveling.
