Firezer Haregu, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist who cares for infants and children with congenital or acquired heart disease. His research projects aim to improve outcomes in pediatric patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, heart transplant recipients, as well as those awaiting heart transplantation.
Dr. Haregu earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia before completing his pediatrics residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. He returned to the University of Virginia to complete fellowship training in pediatric cardiology as well as advanced fellowship training in pediatric heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
