Bio & Overview
Dena Rhinehart, MD, is a medical oncologist who specializes in treating thoracic and head and neck cancers.
“My goal is to learn from patients about their values, then work together to create a care plan that aligns the best evidence and their values as much as possible,” she says. “I believe open communication and working with a team are key to addressing the multiple aspects of a patient's well-being along the cancer journey.”
Dr. Rhinehart grew up in the upstate of South Carolina. She spent much of her time hiking and camping, experiences that drew her to Charlottesville.
She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she also completed a residency and an additional chief residency year in internal medicine.
