Three practices, formerly operated by OneGI, in Gainesville, Manassas, and Warrenton have joined UVA Health, expanding access to gastroenterology services and building on UVA Health’s established gastroenterology program serving patients across Northern Virginia.
The integration brings the established gastroenterology practices into UVA Health, welcoming providers, advanced practice providers, and team members while building on the health system’s existing inpatient, outpatient, and virtual gastroenterology services. Patients will have greater access to specialty care, coordinated services, and UVA Health’s broader network of clinical expertise and resources. UVA Health’s existing program in Northern Virginia currently provides outpatient care and procedures in Manassas, inpatient services at Prince William and Haymarket medical centers, and virtual care connecting inpatient and outpatient services.
“Expanding access to high-quality gastroenterology care is an important part of our commitment to meeting the health care needs of our growing Northern Virginia communities,” said Erik Shannon, chief executive officer of UVA Health's community medical centers and clinics in Northern Virginia and Culpeper. “By welcoming these established practices into UVA Health, we are building on the strong inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services already available in our community hospitals and clinics, expanding capacity and creating more opportunities for patients to receive coordinated, specialized care close to home.”
The integration strengthens coordination between gastroenterology services, primary care, oncology, colorectal surgery and other specialty programs, supporting timely referrals, seamless transitions of care and improved patient experiences. This connected-care approach aligns with the integration strategy outlined for the gastroenterology expansion.
“This addition creates stronger connections across our system of care, giving patients greater access to specialized gastroenterology services and the broader expertise and resources available across UVA Health,” said Stephen Keiser, MBA, FHM, chief operations & growth officer for UVA Health community medical centers and clinics of Northern Virginia and Culpeper. “By expanding our existing gastroenterology program, we can help more patients receive the right care at the right time, close to home.”
The new locations include:
- UVA Health Gastroenterology Gainesville 7915 Lake Manassas Drive, Suite 302
- UVA Health Gastroenterology Manassas 8640 Sudley Road, Suite 201
- UVA Health Gastroenterology Warrenton 170 W. Shirley Avenue, Suite 205
Patients should continue to contact their practice as they normally would with questions about appointments or care.
Adding these practices is part of UVA Health's ongoing strategy to strengthen existing specialty service lines and expand access to comprehensive, high-quality care throughout Northern Virginia, ensuring patients can receive more of the care they need close to home.
