Bio & Overview

Susan Gray, MD, (pronouns: she/her) is an associate professor and pediatrician who specializes in teen health and pediatric primary care. Gray is also the medical director of the UVA Teen and Young Adult Health Center. She enjoys working with families of girls with medical complexities and unique developmental needs, and she has a particular interest in gynecology and reproductive health. She is an IUD and Nexplanon contraception implant provider. She also provides care for young people with eating disorders.

Gray attended Yale University and went to medical school at the University of Virginia. She completed her medical training in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Gray co-founded the Young Women with Bleeding Clinic at Boston Children’s in 2018 to help young people with bleeding disorders manage their periods. In recent years, she has been invited to give multiple talks around the country on reproductive health for young people with special needs. Gray joined the UVA Health Children's staff in 2019.

In her free time, Gray enjoys spending time with her family, knitting and traveling.
