Dr. Brown and UVA staff were "top notch" for this visit and have been so ever since I became a patient of Dr. Brown's approximately 8 years ago.

Dr. Brown is the best endocrinologist I have ever had. I've never had one who treats me as more than my diabetes, or who makes such a huge point to ensure I know I'm not a bad person for not being perfect in my treatment. She always ensures that we find ways to adapt my treatment plan to me, what I'm already doing, and what I will actually be able to sustain to get my glucose levels as low and steady as possible while allowing me to still live as normally as possible.

I actually spent most of my time with an intern, who was certainly nervous, and I would guess fairly new to patient interactions, but I've been an endocrinology patient for two decades, and I didn't mind being part of an interaction that will hopefully help him on his way to becoming a great doctor and patient advocate. The doctor was only there for the last few minutes, and she did not physically examine me herself.
