Bio & Overview

Samuel Cross, MD, is a general pediatrician who sees children for well visits, school and sports physicals, ADHD, and other general pediatric conditions. 

Dr. Cross was born and raised in Richmond. He attended University of Virginia for his undergraduate degree, medical school and residency. In between, he lived and worked in Siavonga, Zambia, where he managed a commercial fishing company. He started at UVA Augusta Pediatrics in 2020. 

He and his wife, Shelby, have four boys (Porter, Milo, Charlie, and Shepard). Most of his life outside of work involves spending time with his family.

Dr. Cross is always extremely thorough, while also being quick. This is helpful when you have a fussy baby! He gives answers to all our questions, and gives detail to the meaning behind it. We appreciate him walking us through whatever the issue may be. He is great with both our kids, talks to them and gets on their level to build a relationship with them. This is especially helpful since our 4 year old is shy and nervous at the doctors office sometimes.

Always a great experience. Dr. Cross is great and has always put our minds at ease as we've navigated our daughter's medical needs since she was born premature. We have recommended to friends who have had baby's because he always provides the best care and is so informative.
