Bio & Overview
Pooja Choudhari, MD, (pronouns: she/her) is a pediatric endocrinologist who treats children and teens with endocrine disorders, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary disorders, and adrenal disorders.
She also cares for young people with endocrine disorders caused by cystic fibrosis, as well as sexual development and puberty issues.
“I wanted to become a pediatric endocrinologist because I enjoy helping children and their families learn to navigate their conditions and continue to live their lives,” she says. “I enjoy the science behind endocrinology and the continuity of care with my patients.”
Dr. Choudhari received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of South Carolina. She completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Florida and her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern.
“It’s important to spend time to address the concerns of children and families,” she says. “My medical practice is rooted in evidence-based medicine, but children’s and families’ perspectives are vital.”
