Bio & Overview
As a family medicine practitioner, Morgan B. Layman, MD, is experienced in managing care for patients with chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
After graduating from Christopher Newport University, Dr. Layman earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in 2019. She completed a family medicine residency, rural track, at University Of North Carolina Hospitals. She was a member of UNC’s first residency class at the Siler City Community Health Center, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) serving a diverse population.
During her time at EVMS, Dr. Layman was a volunteer clinician with HOPES (Health Outreach Partnership of EVMS), Norfolk’s only free clinic and the first student-run free clinic in Virginia. Having worked extensively with Spanish-speaking patients, Dr. Layman is proficient in conversational Spanish.
Outside of work, Dr. Layman enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her German shepherd. She also loves to sing, read, watch sports, and explore new restaurants.
