Bio & Overview
Michael Williams, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician at UVA Health Children’s. Dr. Williams has been with UVA since 2014.
As the child of a foreign service family, Dr. Williams spent a lot of time during his childhood in Latin America, the Caribbean, and South Africa, but he always considered Virginia his home. He grew up mostly in northern Virginia. He eventually became an Echols Scholar at UVA, and went on to graduate from Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Williams always enjoyed team sports. In addition to playing basketball, soccer, and tennis, he also coached youth basketball. Learning to be a part of a team and help his teammates stay focused has been a useful skill as a doctor. “Raising a child and keeping them healthy is definitely a team sport.”
Dr. Williams still plays tennis, basketball, and soccer. He also serves on the Ron Brown Scholarship Board.
