Laura Mitchell, MD, is an internal medicine physician who provides primary care, including preventive healthcare and treatment for a broad range of health problems.
Originally from Gulfport, MS, Dr. Mitchell attended Mississippi State University in Starkville, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering before earning her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.
Dr. Mitchell completed her internal medicine residency at UVA Health, where she was selected to serve as the internal medicine ambulatory chief resident. Dedicated to mentoring and teaching other providers, she was selected for the UVA Clinical Educator track during residency, which provided her with formal training on educating adult learners. In 2022, she was awarded the Mulholland Resident and Fellow Teaching Award for excellence and dedication in educating medical students.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, soccer, and live music.
