Bio & Overview

Dr. Humberson was born and raised in Houston, Texas, before moving to Virginia to attend Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (now Randolph College), where she earned their highest academic scholarship and played NCAA volleyball, swimming and lacrosse. Her most memorable year was her junior year abroad in Tasmania and Brisbane, Australia. She earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University where she co-led and led medical relief trips to Honduras, Brazil and Kenya. 

Dr. Humberson completed her pediatrics residency at UCSF Fresno and her genetics fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is board-certified in clinical genetics. She joined UVA in 2011.

Dr. Humberson is married and has two children. She loves watching them burn off their energy playing soccer, advancing in scouting and playing with their rescue dog. She enjoys the outdoors and traveling with her family.
