Bio & Overview
Danielle Young, PA, is a physician assistant who specializes in pediatric genetics. Her clinical interests include newborn screening and inborn errors of metabolism.
Young grew up in Chesapeake. She received her master of physician assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She also earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in exercise science from Old Dominion University. She previously practiced medical genetics at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.
Young has three children and one furry child. She developed her interest in pediatric genetics after her second child was diagnosed with a genetic condition.
“Genetics is a whole body approach,” she says. “We can't look at just one body system. We need to look at the patient as a whole to understand all the pieces that might be significant.”
