Bio & Overview
Dermatologist Bridget Bryer, MD, joined the UVA faculty in 2022. She specializes in caring for pediatric and adult patients with conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
Her clinical interests also include:
- Skin cancer screening
- Complex medical dermatology
- Dermatologic surgery
- Care of underserved populations
Through her research, she explores topics like clinical decision-making, evidence-based outcomes assessments, and medical education.
Dr. Bryer shares,"I decided to specialize in dermatology because it allows me to provide specialized care to patients from infancy to older adulthood and to work with my hands through procedures and minor surgeries. My goal is for each patient to understand their condition and treatment plan so that we can work together as a team to help them achieve the best possible outcome."
Dr. Bryer was born and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. After earning her medical degree from the University of Virginia, she stayed at UVA for her internship and dermatology residency training.
She began volunteering at the Charlottesville Free Clinic in 2003 and has served as its volunteer medical director since 2008.
