Amie Munson, MD, is a board-certified family medicine doctor who provides primary care for a wide range of patients. Her clinical interests include preventative medicine and women's health. Her research focuses on the effect of psychological stressors on physical health.
"Above all," she says about her approach to caring for patients, "I try to respect the patient's autonomy and incorporate their thoughts and beliefs into the plan of care. I want my patients to feel that they are being heard and develop a relationship of trust."
Dr. Munson grew up in the Shenandoah Valley. From a young age, she wanted to become a doctor. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her residency training at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Before joining UVA Health in 2022, she spent 12 years with Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.
