Bio & Overview
Dr. Melahn was born and raised in a small town outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. After receiving her bachelor’s in communication disorders from Appalachian State University in 2010, she went on to complete a clinical doctorate in audiology at Arizona State University. Prior to graduating from Arizona State in 2015, Dr. Melahn completed a one-year fellowship at UVA.
Dr. Melahn serves as a clinician in the Division of Communicative Disorders and Audiology at UVA. Her specialties include diagnostic testing, vestibular disorders, aural rehabilitation and auditory-evoked potentials. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Melahn makes every attempt to complete The New York Times Crossword on Sundays, a hobby she picked up from her dad. She also enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends and family.
