Bio & Overview
Adam Johnson, MD, was born in Prince William, VA and raised in nearby Spotsylvania. After graduating from Spotsylvania High School, he attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. After graduation, he took a year to live in New York City and work with middle school students teaching Earth Science. He also helped run a community service club through a program called City Year.
He returned to Virginia to complete his medical education at the Medical College of Virginia. There he completed the Inner City-Rural Preceptor Program, where he focused on understanding and serving the needs of that particular patient population. He went on to complete his Pediatric training at Duke University Medical Center where he was in the Primary Care Leadership Track and focused on issues surrounding outpatient care.
Dr. Johnson joined UVA Physician's Group in 2013. He enjoys being closer to home and providing care in the same area where he was raised. His wife Patricia is a dentist in Stafford, VA, and together they have one son, Gavin. In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys being with friends and family, spending time outdoors, running, and biking.
