Bio & Overview
Aaron Dumont, MD, MBA, FACHE, FACS, FAHA, FAANS, is a nationally renowned brain surgeon and the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery. He is also a member of the board of directors of the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS).
His clinical specialties include cerebral vascular disease, skull base and brain tumors, complex spine, and peripheral nerve surgery. His research interests include cerebral vascular disease, brain aneurysms, intracerebral hemorrhage, artificial intelligence, and data science.
Dr. Dumont was raised in Canada, where his family enjoyed playing sports, music, camping, and traveling together. He received his medical degree from the University of Calgary. He completed his surgery internship, neurological surgery residency, and cerebrovascular, endovascular, and skull base surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia.
He is board certified in neurological surgery with additional certification in neurocritical care. He also received an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Dumont was previously chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Dumont has co-authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and has made hundreds of national and international presentations. He serves or previously served on the editorial board for a number of peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Neurosurgery, Stroke, the Journal of Clinical Medicine, and the International Journal of Vascular Medicine.
