Evaluating Promising Progestins in Endometrial Cancer Through a Rotating Umbrella Surgical Window Trial – the PRO-WINDOW TRIAL for Endometrial Cancer

The University of Virginia is seeking women 18 years of age and older to participate in a clinical trial. The goal of this study is to test if progestins (a synthetic form of the natural hormone progesterone) are effective in treating endometrial cancer. This study will evaluate the effect of progestin by comparing tumor tissue from the initial biopsy to tumor tissue collected after a hysterectomy. You may be eligible for this study if you: - Have endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma - Have planned surgical management of your cancer with a hysterectomy If you participate in this study, you may be on the study for approximately 21-24 days in the preoperative (before operation) period.
